Raunds Town 1 Edgware 5
Saturday, 01 September 2007
Status and form prevailed at Kiln Park where Ryman League high fliers Edgware proved too strong for the Shopmates.
Joe Rich cleared off the line from Junior Lewis in the first minute but Greg Ngoyi gave Edgware the lead after five minutes play with a low drive. Two goals towards the end of the half all but settled the contest in the visitors' favour. Ben Haydon scored their second after 38 minutes after Raunds keeper Mike Hearn saved from Paul Marks, with Ngoyi netting again three minutes later after taking a return pass from Dennis Marjahan.
Stuart Blackburne scored a fourth for the visitors after 65 minutes, a far post volley, before the Shopmates got on the scoresheet five minutes from time through Danny Frid who tapped in after visiting keeper Rob Blackburne spilled Jamie Russell's free kick. Edgware had the last word after 88 minutes with Gavin Hart completing the nap hand.
