Deeping Rangers  2    Long Buckby  3

Saturday, 12 November 2011

Buckby left it late to claim a thirteenth successive Premier win, and a first ever in eleven attempts at Outgang Road.

David Burton-Jones drew a fine early save from visiting keeper Tom Stephanou and other opportunities fell to Matt Heron and Josh Moreman early on.

As Buckby settled Greg Ling headed over, and after 18 minutes Burton-Jones was adjudged to have fouled Russ Dunkley and Fazel Koriya gave Buckby the lead from the spot.

The visitors started the second half brightly with home keeper James Doughty going full length to turn a Dunkley header around the post.

At the other end Tom Stephanou matched that diverting Heron's shot for a corner, and then Mark Jones headed over from a Kev Gilbert centre.

Deeping's pressure was rewarded with a 65th minute leveller. There was an element of fortune in how the ball broke to Gilbert but he made the most of it to beat Stephanou with a low drive.

Buckby produced the perfect response, regaining the lead within a minute. Ling crossed from the left and Dunkley got across his marker to volley home.

Rangers rallied with Josh Moreman forcing Stephanou into a tip over.

With 89 minutes on the clock Deeping again levelled. Matt Evans fed Kevin Brader on the right and the substitute's centre was headed in by Heron.

Doughty again saved well for Dunkley, but Buckby won it a minute into time added when the alert Koriya darted in to beat Doughty as Steve Julian's back header fell short.
