Wootton Blue Cross  0    Newport Pagnell Town  4

Saturday, 20 October 2007

A powerful second half performance by Newport enabled them to complete a double over Blue Cross at Weston Park.

The first half was scoreless but three goals in four second half minutes around the hour mark proved decisive.

Youngster Drew Mitten broke the deadlock after 58 minutes after breaking clear, and he added a second three minutes later, latching onto a quickly taken free kick to slot home.

Rob Macdonald's 62nd minute effort after another quick break all but ended the contest and he scored his second two minutes from time after a cross was only half cleared by the home rearguard.
