Yaxley  2    Sleaford Town  1

Tuesday, 16 October 2007

The Cuckoos' second half comeback enabled them to complete a double over Sleaford at Leading Drove.

The visitors took the lead four minutes before the break through Matt Lunn who fired home from 18 yards to round off a left wing build up, Just before the break Sleaford's Kris Jones was dismissed for an illegal challenge on home keeper John Feetham but the visitors held out until the closing stages, in part due to Andy Scott's penalty save from home skipper Jimmy Dean.

Dean hauled Yaxley on terms after 72 minutes and recent recruit Anthony Thomas gave the Cuckoos maximum points with the decisive goal ten minutes from the end, outjumping Scott to head home.
