Club History Kiveton Park had a football club ever since the former colliery opened in the 19th century. Teams played in the old Yorkshire League and were founder members of the Northern Counties East League. Relegation saw them join the Central Midlands League at the start of the 1990's. When the colliery closed in 1994 Kiveton lost its? football club and major financier. The following season our current chairman David Carswell got a team of young lads together to play football in the Sports and Athletic League (Sheffield). We were called ?The Waleswood?. In our first season we won the League cup and became runners up in the league. Seven of the squad represented Sheffield in a rep game against Huddersfield. The following season 1999-2000 we were approached by Worksop town to become their A side playing in the Central midlands reserve League. Season 2000-01 saw Kiveton Park Football club remerge with the help of Mr Frank Harwood asking us to join the Central Midlands Premier Division. Season 2002-03 saw us gain promotion to the Supreme Division when we became runners up to Pelican FC. That season we also won the Sportsman Trophy for the premier Division. Season 2003-04 saw us finish 12th after a incredible 15 draws, so we became known as the draw specialists. In season 2004/05 We won the Sheffield & Hallamshire Cup and retained the Trophy in 2005/06. We was also voted as the best organised club on the Football Bonanza event by the Groundhoppers that visited our ground on the Easter Saturday. 1892-93 Founder members of Sheffield League 1963-64 Joined Yorkshire League Division Two 1965-66 Promoted to Division One 1968-69 Missed runner-up spot on goal average 1970 Relegated to Division Two on re-organisation 1971-72 Missed runner-up spot on goal average Promoted to Division One 1974 Relegated to Division Two 1977-78 Yorkshire League Division Two Champions Promoted to Division One 1979 Relegated to Division Two 1979-80 Promoted to Division One 1981 Relegated to Division Two 1982-83 Founder members of Northern Counties East League 1984-85 Joined Division One South on re-organisation 1985-86 Placed in Division Two on re-organisation Promoted to Division One 1991-92 Joined Central Midlands League Premier North Division Central Midlands League Premier North Division runner-up 1992-93 Regional divisions scrapped, single Premier Division formed Promoted to Supreme Division 1996 Left Central Midlands League 1996-97 Formed as The Waleswood playing in the Sheffield Sports and Athletic League 1999-00 Rejoined Central Midlands League Premier Division 2002-03 Central Midlands League Premier Division runner-up (on goal difference) Promoted to Supreme Division 2004-05 Won Sheffield & Hallamshire Association Cup 2005-06 Relegated to Premier Division due to ground grading Set up a Reserve side playing in The South Yorkshire Amateur League Merge with Todwick Juniors to and ?The Saxon? to form Kiveton and District Association Football Club Won Sheffield & Hallamshire Association Cup For the second time.
