Rangers were formed in 1964 and spent their first two seasons in the Peterborough Sunday League, winning the Division One title at the first attempt and then finishing third in the Premier. A switch to Saturday football in 1966 saw success continue with the Peterborough League Division Three North title won at the first attempt along with the PFA Minor Cup, in 1969 the Division Two title was won and twelve months later Rangers were Division One champions. The facilities at Maxey Road were considered inadequate for Premier football and the side soon broke up.

In 1979 Rangers suffered a setback being relegated to Division Two but they bounced back at the first attempt. However, 1980 also saw Rangers lose the use of the Maxey Road ground, and they were to play at the town's Leisure Centre until moving to Outgang Road in 1985.

Rangers won the Ancaster Cup in 1983 and 1985 and the Lincs Junior Cup in 1984, and finally made it to the Premier Division in 1985 after finidhing Division One runners-up. Further county cup successes were recorded in 1988 and 1989, while Rangers were soon a force at Premier level, winning the PFA Senior Cup in 1992 and 1997.

Under the astute management of Paul Bentley Rangers were consistently among the Premier front runners, finishing second in 1996, while the club's youth policy produced gems in Malcolm Christie (now Middlesbrough) and Ben Wright who later played for Viking Stavanger in the UEFA Cup.

In 1999 Rangers again finished Peterborough League runners-up and were promoted to the UCL. They almost secured back to back promotions but had to settle for third place in their first Division One campaign. Floodlights were installed at Outgang Road at the end of the 1999-2000 campaign. Twelve months later Chris Beckett steered Deeping to runners up in Division One and their first Lincolnshire Senior Cup B success, 4-1 against Harrowby.

Rangers duly stepped up to the UCL Premier Division and are now established in the top flight. They have also been able to compete in the FA Cup and Vase since obtaining top flight status. In 2006 Rangers reached the Lincs Senior Cup 'A' final for the first time losing 1-0 to neighbours Bourne.

In 2006-07 Rangers enjoyed a campaign to remember, lifting the Premier Division title and finishing runners-up in the Lincs Senior Trophy and Hinchingbrooke Cup, while manager Tuncay Korkmaz was named the league's manager of the year.
Deeping's youth policy continues to be hugely successful with trophies galore won by the youngsters in recent seasons from under 11 to under 18.
