Sleaford Town joined the Lincolnshire League in 1968 and won the Second Division title at the first time of asking. They soon reached the top flight but apart from a Lincolnshire League Charity Cup success in 1974 succes eluded them until they completed a League and Cup double during the 1980-81 season.

Sleaford were league cup runners-up in 1985 and twelve months later they carried off the County Senior Cup 'B' for the first time. Success in the Supplementary Cup in 1989 was followed by an excellent 1989-90 campaign which saw Town win the League Cup and finish runners-up in the Premier Division. The League Cup was retained the following season, but a number of lean years followed.

The first signs of a revival saw Sleaford reach the League Cup final in 1999 and the millenium season saw them carry off the Senior Cup B for a seconf time. In 2001 they were runners-up in the League Cup but twelve months later Sleaford won both the County Cup and the Supplementary Cup.

A memorable 2002-03 season saw Town win the Senior Cup B and Supplementary Cup, they were League Cup runners-up and missed out on the championship on the final day of the season.

After announcing plans to join the UCL after 35 years in the Lincolnshire League, Town enjoyed the best season in their history during 2003-04. After losing their opening league game they were unbeaten throughout the remainder of the campaign as they won their first title in 23 years. A win over Wyberton completed a hat trick of Senior cup B successes, the first time this feat had ever been achieved. Sleaford were also Supplementary Cup runners-up to Lincoln United Reserves.

Sleaford enjoyed a memorable 2005-06 season winning the UCL First Division and the Lincs Senior Cup B, their fifth success in seven seasons. After three seasons playing at RAF Cranwell Town moved into their new purpose built Eslaforde Park ground in May 2007. They will start a new era as a Premier Division club after finishing as Division One runners up, losing just one match all season.
The 2009-10 season saw Sleaford enjoy their best runs in the FA Cup and FA Vase and achieve a best Premier placing yet of ninth.
